The ubiquitous Unix-like operating systems
I mainly work on Unix-like systems and I have extensive knowledge of development on the tooling and development in general for these environments.
The multi-faceted software & systems developer with passion for embedded & CybSec.
I do small freelance jobs here and there and run a Proxmox server to provide some basic hosting for a number of clients.
All the hosting infrastructure is located in the beautiful Saimaa lake-region of Finland, in the city of Savonlinna.
I studied my Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Automation Engineering, majoring in Smart Machines. I have then continued to study cyber security & high-performance computing (HPC) on university level courses.
I have cut my teeth in embedded software with C++ & C during my 6 year work experience. It has given me experience in multiple large projects, all the way from small PoC tests on a small circuit-board as a freelancer – to working in a large, well-established development processes with code-base sizes to match that, running real big industrial machinery out in the world.
I mainly work on Unix-like systems and I have extensive knowledge of development on the tooling and development in general for these environments.
I do have experience in software development with Microsoft, Android & Apple products and I can develop solutions for all these ecosystems.
The modern C++20 is my home and I have used it with Qt framework or plain stl flavour for my whole working life to create interconnected systems and industrial-grade user interfaces.
Industry by large knows it isn't the easiest to get right, but it is small and fast and thus is still a highly important language. As the go-to language for MCU's, it's one of the first languages I have encountered and FreeRTOS is also a known entity in my experience.
Python is really a go-to when something easy and quick is needed. It's my second go-to when I need something done and I know its quirks too and how to navigate myself around it.
Rust is a very promising new language taken into use by the big players on the software industry, delivering comparable performance to C and C++ with memory safety. I currently experiment on Rust language with my own personal PoC works.
I have worked my whole life building computers & experimenting with technology and I pride myself on adapting to languages, code-bases and systems easily.
I strive for clean, maintainable and easy-to-read code and systems, because I've seen enough systems that plain doesn't work for the end-users, or where the technical debt hinders any further work.
